Barley

Barley is a sweet and resilient 3.5-year-old, 64-pound pup with a heart full of love and a spirit that’s just beginning to blossom. Recently left in a crate in the parking lot along with some supplies and a handwritten note; Barley greeted rescuers with a wagging tail and friendly eyes. During his stay at CARE Barley has remained incredibly affectionate and gentle. He walks beautifully on leash, knows basic commands, and is especially fond of people and kids. Barley continues to discover the world with wide-eyed wonder. According to his previous owners he absolutely loves going for walks, cuddling in bed, and munching on zucchini and other veggies. Though he's playful and curious, he’s not a good fit for homes with cats—he just can’t resist the chase. Strangely enough, Barley never barks, but he communicates volumes through his sweet nature and loving gaze. This quiet, veggie-loving cuddlebug is ready for a second chance at a forever home that can give him the freedom, companionship, and love he deserves.
