Waverly

Meet Waverly! 💕 This fluffy, chunky Pitsky (Pit Bull/Husky mix) has been waiting patiently for someone to choose her, and we absolutely adore this smart girl.

Waverly is a playful, bouncy sweetheart who knows how to have fun — but she can also settle herself back down pretty easily. Once she’s ready for a little downtime, she’s happy to soak up attention, pets, and belly rubs. She’s treat-motivated, knows “sit,” and is a smart girl who seems to genuinely enjoy learning. I think she could be SO much fun to train and experience life with!

On walks, Waverly can be very strong, so her future family should be prepared to work with her leash skills. She recently did a parallel walk with another dog, and although she was initially a little bouncy and wanted to pull toward him, she quickly settled into walking alongside him in a fairly close bubble. She would occasionally turn to check in with her handler before continuing on. She’ll likely need slow, thoughtful introductions with other dogs, but her walk with the other shelter dog was encouraging. As always, dog-to-dog compatibility should be evaluated individually.

We don’t have a lot of information yet about what Waverly is like in a home, which is exactly why fostering her could be such a wonderful opportunity. A foster home can help us learn more about her potty habits, how she settles in a house, what kind of routine she enjoys, and what her ideal forever home looks like. She may very well be potty trained once she gets into a home environment.

Waverly came to the shelter at the end of May/early June, and she’s been waiting ever since for someone to see what a special girl she is. 🥹

She would love an adventure buddy who also appreciates a good snuggle session afterward. Whether it’s learning new things, going for walks, playing, or simply hanging out together, I have a feeling Waverly would be a pretty amazing dog to do life with. ❤️
