About Bowl of Blueberries
馃挋 MEET BLUEBERRY! 馃挋
馃毃 Lifesaver pup needs an adopter or foster takeover by 9/11! 馃毃
Blueberry has only been in foster care for three weeks, but the transformation she鈥檚 already made is pretty incredible.
When she first arrived, it seemed like so much of everyday life was brand new to her. She didn鈥檛 know basic commands, wasn鈥檛 potty trained, hadn鈥檛 learned how to walk on a leash, and clearly needed someone to show her what it meant to feel safe, loved and cared for.
And Blueberry has been learning FAST. 馃挋
In just three weeks, she has become potty trained, does great in her kennel, learned sit, is working on leave it, has gained some much-needed weight, and is getting calmer and more settled every week. She鈥檚 beginning to understand what鈥檚 expected of her鈥攁nd, maybe even better, that she鈥檚 allowed to relax and just be a dog.
Blueberry is still a high-energy girl who LOVES to play! Running around the yard playing keep-away, tug, Kongs, lick mats and anything involving peanut butter are some of her favorite things. Give this girl a good outlet for her energy and you鈥檒l see a much more content pup afterward.
She鈥檚 still working on leash manners and can get mouthy when she鈥檚 excited, so her new person should be ready to continue the training she鈥檚 started. But underneath all that enthusiasm is a genuinely gentle girl. Her foster hasn鈥檛 seen aggression from her鈥攈er challenges seem to come from excitement, wanting attention and a very enthusiastic desire to PLAY.
She鈥檚 even been around cats and mostly wants to crowd them, sniff them and convince them to join the fun. The cats, apparently, did not receive that memo. 馃槀 She has also had several positive on-leash introductions with dogs. While we can鈥檛 know exactly how she would do living with another dog, she may enjoy a well-matched canine friend who can keep up with her energy.
The biggest thing to know about Blueberry? She is making progress every single week. She鈥檚 settling. She鈥檚 learning. She鈥檚 getting chiller. And she鈥檚 showing everyone just how much potential she has.
Three weeks hasn鈥檛 been enough time to teach Blueberry everything鈥攂ut it has been more than enough time to see what she could become with someone willing to keep going.
馃挋 Blueberry can only stay in her current foster home through 9/11. Without an adopter or foster takeover, she will have to return to the shelter. She has worked so hard and come so far. She deserves the chance to keep moving forward instead of starting over.
Blueberry doesn鈥檛 need someone who expects a perfect dog. She needs someone who sees the amazing dog she鈥檚 becoming.
Please consider adopting or fostering Blueberry and giving this sweet, goofy, energetic girl the chance she deserves. 馃挋馃惥
