Meet Jackson!

Jackson is a loving, goofy, affectionate boy who thinks he’s a lap dog despite being around 57 pounds! He absolutely loves his people and happily soaks up couch time, snuggles, and affection. While he loves being close to his people, he can also happily entertain himself and relax on his own.

Jackson has made wonderful progress in foster care. He is house-trained and has gone four months without a house-training accident on a consistent routine. He sleeps crate-free all night with no issues and is crate-trained during the day.

Jackson loves walks, outdoor adventures, and playtime, but two of his absolute favorite things are water and balls! Give this boy a pool and a ball and he’s in heaven. He loves a good game of fetch, brings the ball right back and drops it at your feet, and willingly lets you take balls and other toys from his mouth. He has a silly, playful side and a big personality to match his big heart.

Jackson may do best as an only dog, where he can soak up all the love and attention. He may also be able to live with the right calm, easygoing canine companion after slow, thoughtful introductions. Because Jackson can get excited around other dogs, a good personality match, structure, and appropriate introductions will be important.

Jackson is very people-friendly and loves meeting new people. He can get very excited with greetings and continues to work on manners and impulse control. He has a genuine desire to please his people and responds well to calm greetings, positive guidance, and predictable routines. Once he feels safe and understands what is expected, he settles in and gains confidence.

Jackson has spent time around cats in foster care and has done well with slow, supervised introductions. Because he can become excited and has a strong interest in squirrels and birds, thoughtful introductions and continued management would be important in a home with cats.

Jackson is a loving, goofy, loyal companion who will absolutely steal your heart. He’s looking for a family who will appreciate his fun personality, continue giving him the structure that has helped him thrive, and love him as much as he’ll love them. In return, he’ll bring endless love, laughs, snuggles, games of fetch, and devotion.
